From the February 2009, global Survey conducted by Euromoney- some of the results published are very informative-

 

Methods of risk transfer-

Captive                 40%

Self Insurance   25%

RRG’s                    12%

Hedge funds      8%

Other                    15%

 

Of the risk transfer  40% is concentrated in property cover.

 

Marsh followed by Aon were named as Managers.

 

Interesting to note that 585 of the respondents expected to see an increase in the use of alternative risk transfer methods over the next 5 years.

 

Best insurer , innovator, price, product range and claims resolution was AIU in all those categories followed by Allianz, then Zurich.
